With a bold and “outside the box” personality, Catha is an artist who has been conquering her space in the Rio scene. This year, for example, the singer was one of the attractions at the Special After Madonna in Rio, which also featured Pedro Sampaio. She has also performed at Rio Gastronomia, in addition to opening shows for Duda Beat and L7NNON in the city, during Tim Music Noites Cariocas. Now, however, his focus is on expanding his music to reach new spaces throughout Brazil.
At 22 years old, Catha presents herself to the world as a huge fan of pop music and in love with this universe since she was young. She has even joked about being a mix of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry and, through her original work, wants to show the public that she can be a strong representative of the rhythm in Brazil.
On her YouTube, the singer from Rio divides her content between her works, such as “Louca pra Borrar” – which received a live clip recorded after Madonna’s show – and “Sendo Assim”, as well as some national and international covers. The result is more than 112 thousand subscribers and around 12 million views across the channel.
Among the authorial works, one of the highlights is “O Meu Lado da História”, with more than one and a half million reproductions. The track “Ai Meu Deus”, which had its clip recorded in London, United Kingdom, already has more than six million views on the video platform.
Catha also shows its rise on digital music platforms. In total, there are more than 46 thousand monthly listeners who have already given more than three million reproductions to the artist's tracks.
New musical moment with “BAD BITCH”
Now, Catha is preparing to present another side of her career to those who don't know her yet. With “BAD BITCH”, a new single that hits digital platforms next Friday, July 19th, the artist bets on engaging pop for the dance floor. According to her, the new song will feature a mix of Brazilian elements with an Arabic sound, as well as characteristics of house music.
Meanwhile, the verses of “BAD BITCH” narrate important themes for the singer: Self-esteem, acceptance and female empowerment. Catha's goal is, through her work and her art, to show the public that everyone should feel free and comfortable in their own skin.
Catha composed the track alongside Bárbara Dias, who has also worked with Sandy, Wanessa, Júnior Lima, among others. Vivian Kuczynski (Jão, Carol Biazin) was responsible for the production, while Felipe Tichauer, nominated for a Grammy for more than 120 times, mastered “BAD BITCH”.
